40-Days of Prosperity! Day Seven! 2009

Sorry, these are late. I will shift something in the morning to get them out early.

7. The Divine Consciousness that I am is forever expressing its true nature of Abundance. This is its responsibility, not mine. My only responsibility is to be aware of this Truth. Therefore, I am totally confident in letting go and letting God appear as the abundant all sufficiency in my life and affairs.

Write this down in your journal and say aloud a few times. Meditate for 15 minutes and write down your thoughts in your journal.

40-Days of Prosperity! Day One! 2009

I stayed at weaving class most of the day so I am sorry to get this out a little later in the day - but all is well.

The 40-day Prosperity plan is a process to help you clarify just where and how you receive your abundance. No person, place or condition is your source of prosperity - it is the Universal Spirit or Creator or God or Spirit World that is your source. Once we let go money, jobs, etc... as our source of supply the abundance of the universe is found right at your feet.

Some may be skeptical about trying this plan BUT I assure you it works!!! Last year was a challenge for me - but I became clear that no one has power over me and that one door has to close sometimes for another to open. By the time I was done with this 40 day plan I was going on a healing trip to Zanzibar - as gift from a dear friend. Before participating in the plan I would have never thought that my first trip to the continent would happen this way BUT Spirit has the final word. So just surrender to the consciousness of prosperity and SEE what happens. LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL! LIVE IT!

Materials needed:-
a journal + 15 minutes a day for meditation + another 5-10 minutes to write in your journal.

I also suggest doing a vision board - which is a collage with images what you would like to manifest in this new year. Get a large poster board and cut out images from a magazine - include words as well. Place the completed board in a place where you can reflect on the images and words each day. Include this board in your process.

Instructions:
Each day you will be given the affirmation for the day. Write this affirmation down in your journal. Say the affirmation out loud a few times then meditate on for 15 minutes. Just focus on your natural breath - you don't need to visualize or say anything. After meditation write in your journal what comes up for you around this affirmation or what is on your mind at that moment.

Each day for 40-days complete this process. There are only 10 affirmations so when you are done with number 10 start again with affirmation number 1. There is no right or wrong with what you journal - this is simply a part of the process.

There is only ONE RULE, if you forget to do your affirmation and meditation one day then you need to start the whole 40 day process over again. This process is about a deep determination to free your mind from a consciousness of lack - a viewpoint that only can conceive of a world where there is never enough...it is a place where lots of suffering takes place. When you shift your consciousness to prosperity consciousness you begin to see that there is more than enough resources on the planet for everyone to live happy prosperous lives. The world opens up and you are drawn to your abundance and it to you. While you are in this process opportunities will come up for your to give - this is the PERFECT TIME to put into action your new belief about abundance - give without question or expectation and see how it is returned in the most beautiful ways.

This not about money but your divine inheritance. I will write an affirmation on this blog each day. Please comment on your experiences as we go along. Many blessings to you on this journey.

DAY 1

1. God/the Creator is lavish, unfailing Abundance, the rich omnipresent substance of the Universe. This all providing Source of infinite prosperity is individualized as me — the Reality of me.

Meditate for 15 minutes on this affirmation then journal your thoughts.

Peace,
Sistah C

Receiving

Today as I begin to fast and cleanse I am contemplating the idea of receiving. By nature and design a woman receives. Knowing this simple concept helps Sistahs to step back and ask themselves "What is it that I am receiving?"

Rev.Lisa at Black Women Blow the Trumphet had a post about looking at your life like it is a pot and taking a careful look at what you are adding to the pot. I found this helpful because I found myself in the middle of making a beautiful, diverse gumbo of life. I value teachings from all over and I value tasting all of what life has to offer...However, when you are making gumbo it is important to know what kind of ingredients will make your gumbo spoil. The elder women in my family always differed on exactly what would make your gumbo spoil but the rule of thumb was to make sure what ever you add was "healthy and right" on its own.

If you are open to life and the lessons it has to teach you then your gumbo will thrive with diversity of experience BUT make sure of the quality of experience you are adding will not spoil the beauty of what you have created thus far.
The other day I did my own tarot reading for the new year and I got the "magician". The magician is an alchemist - a careful weaver of energies - pouring from one vessel to the other with awareness - seeking to achieve just the right balance.

My life had taught me to value the preciousness of this special recipe that is me. The Creator gave me the "rue" (the base) which is my life. My Ancestors contributed a unique set of ingredients to my gumbo knowing that I would carry on good and powerful things for my bloodline. My family raised me with the best possible intentions - making sure I would grow up to be successful and blessed by the Creator. With all that already in my pot my mission is to continue to sweeten the pot - continue to care for has been given to me and grow it...This is the science of life.I am going to carry this understanding into my fast for the next week as I fast and renew.

Sunday is the beginning of the 40-day Prosperity Plan. You can either buy the book or really just participate with me online.
You will need:
* a journal
* 15 minutes a day (minimum) to meditate on the affirmation of that day.
Optional but worth trying:
*give something away each day of the plan.
*vision board
The 40-day prosperity plan is about you opening yourself up to receiving prosperity in all its forms AND realizing that you have all that you need right now to live the life you want to live RIGHT NOW! Last year I was blessed in soooo many ways and I continue to be...Its a beautiful practice. I hope you will join me.

Peace,
Sistah C

RE- Inventing : One's Self...

I wrote to my one of my best friend's today...I am REINVENTING MYSELF FOR THE 777th time!

Personally, it is something in my wiring that always wants to grow and expand. I am attracted to finding out what exactly makes me tick?!! Just when I think I know - I change. It use to be nerve rackin' and others would call me "flighty" but you know - I LOVE MYSELF JUST THE WAY I AM... I am this unique express of the Creator and I don't think the Creator has made a mistake yet! I have found peace in accepting this nomadic part of myself...it feeds my creativity and my healing practice...I think the Tao says something about allowing things to come and go AND return.

My art flows like the tide in Zanzibar...at moments it is fully present in my life then it floats out - goes somewhere and comes back with beautiful gifts like rainbow colored cowrie shells and translucent white crabs. No one curses Mama Ocean for floating out pass the coral reef, because they know she will return - warm, peaceful and abundant.

I have not worked on any art since December. I needed to rest and be...Lately, I have returned and started to work with my teacher Khalil who is teaching me West African Vertical Loom weaving. He is an amazing artist and elder. I am blessed to learn such a beautiful and peaceful process. I am totally amazed at the detailed of work that is involved in making a piece of fabric! Someone back in the day sat in deep thought and received the message on how to perfect this process...this is technology...human technology...

Art is just one new way in which I am developing and expanding. I am also thinking of where I want to settle and live AND how I want to use my current skills to create income...I want to find the perfect balance of creativity, leadership and progressive movement in my next line of work...People ask me "what do you want to do?" and I think "I will know it when I do it..." Either way, I have this feeling I am forging a new path AND its GOOD. My friend Rocky and I are starting a juice fast this coming Saturday - so if you want to join us hit me an email on how to prepare. I will try to post some of our juice recipes. I will also be starting the 40 day prosperity plan again -remember last year I was gifted with a trip to Africa...the plan works - spirit works!

I found out about this cool documentary 'Who Does She Think She Is?' It is the story of these SistahGoddess Artist who are balancing the fine art of life with creativity. It is about their necessity to make art a part of their lives. I hope to see it here in Atlanta or find it for rent ... I am attaching the trailer...(go to my blog if you get my email)

Lastly, tomorrow we will see the dream America has of reinventing itself...There will be lots of celebrations and great words being said...tears, laughter...
I simply remember the Tao...

41

When a superior man hears of the Tao,
he immediately begins to embody it.
When an average man hears of the Tao,
he half believes it, half doubts it.
When a foolish man hears of the Tao,
he laughs out loud.
If he didn't laugh,
it wouldn't be the Tao.

Thus it is said:
The path into the light seems dark,
the path forward seems to go back,
the direct path seems long,
true power seems weak,
true purity seems tarnished,
true steadfastness seems changeable,
true clarity seems obscure,
the greatest are seems unsophisticated,
the greatest love seems indifferent,
the greatest wisdom seems childish.

The Tao is nowhere to be found.
Yet it nourishes and completes all things.

53
The great Way is easy,
yet people prefer the side paths.
Be aware when things are out of balance.
Stay centered within the Tao.

When rich speculators prosper
While farmers lose their land;
when government officials spend money
on weapons instead of cures;
when the upper class is extravagant and irresponsible
while the poor have nowhere to turn-
all this is robbery and chaos.
It is not in keeping with the Tao.

54
Whoever is planted in the Tao
will not be rooted up.
Whoever embraces the Tao
will not slip away.
Her name will be held in honor
from generation to generation.

Let the Tao be present in your life
and you will become genuine.
Let it be present in your family
and your family will flourish.
Let it be present in your country
and your country will be an example
to all countries in the world.
Let it be present in the universe
and the universe will sing.

How do I know this is true?
By looking inside myself.

Sistah C

Happy New Year!

A very peaceful Happy New Year to everyone. I got back just a few days ago from my 10-day meditation retreat AND I have to say that I am renewed in the way of spirit, body and mind. The last time I went on this type of retreat was about 7 years ago and in between that time I have practiced a little here and there but eventually chaos got to me - or I got sucked into my own personal chaos and I soon forgot the process that helped me to center and see things as they truly are...

One evening at the discourse the teaching said "there is nothing that can cause more harm than the untrained mind, there is nothing that can facilitate more healing than a mind that is calm, peaceful and full of love." This really was true for me...I have seen the path of destruction I have made by submitting to the wild, unruly mind - a mind often filled with suspicion, craving, over loaded desires, sadness and rage.

The body is one of the most fascinating machines ever created. It is so resilient, so forgiving and so strong. Even when we are ill it spends all of its energy trying to get well - trying to create balance. The mind is linked to this body and it is my theory that the two are so deeply integrated that what ever is impressed upon our minds begins to feed the experience of our body. In Vipassana meditation we are taught to observe the sensations on our body as a way of revealing some of our deepest sufferings. This process is not about affirmation or thinking positively, although these are helpful in their own rite. Observing sensation helps you to get at the root of your suffering not just heal the surface.

I got to a point in the meditation retreat where I could see the reality of the relationships in my life and I realize they have all been a reflection of my mind - my untrained mind - a mind that has created cravings, has concocted fantasies and generated anger. I have been such a slave to expectations - others and my own...Now I can see that in letting this old self go I can put my life in order again...I can prioritize the things that are important to me. I can be present - inside of my body. This has created the most profound peace inside of me - peace that I know I have work diligently to preserve.

Sistahs, this is a NEW DAY - everyday is a new opportunity to cultivate self love and train our minds for peace. Mind you, this peace is not passive but highly active. Once we see the reality of our lives we will crack the surface of "overfunctioning" or "grave-digging" as BLACK WOMEN, BLOW THE TRUMPET teaches. We will also begin to generate a set of principles for our selves - more than affirmations but truths to live by...Our divine birth rite is to be liberated and free from all forms of suffering. All suffering starts on the inside - a free person CAN NOT BE OPPRESSED for those who come toward her with shackles will be compelled to turn away - they will be rendered powerless. We must work hard to free our minds - with patience and persistence we will succeed.

Remember this year is about the Bones. Bones hold the stories. If the story is untold this energy will find a space for it to be heard. If the story has been told over and over again, this energy will help you finds the "end".

Now, I would like to share a story that is told by Clarissa Pinkola Estes in a book called Woman Who Run With the Wolves... a perfect story about re-creation. This is a bone-woman story...

La Loba

There is an old woman who lives in a hidden place that everyone knows but few have ever seen. She seems to wait for lost or wandering people and seekers to come to her place.

She is circumspect, often hairy, always fat, and especially wishes to evade most company. She is both a crower and a cackler, generally having more animal sounds than human ones.

They say she lives among the rotten granite slopes in Tarahumara Indian territory. They say she is buried outside Phoenix near a well. She is said to have been seen traveling south to Monte Alban in a burnt-out car with the back window shot out. She is said to stand by the highway near El Paso, or ride shotgun with truckers to Morelia, Mexico, or that she has been sighted walking to market above Oaxaca with strangely formed boughs of firewood on her back. She is called by many names: La Huesera, Bone Woman; La Trapera, The Gatherer; and La Loba, Wolf Woman.

The sole work of La Loba is the collecting of bones. She is known to collect and preserve especially that which is in danger of being lost to the world. Her cave is filled with the bones of all manner of desert creatures: the deer, the rattlesnake, the crow. But her speciality is said to be wolves.

She creeps and crawls and sifts through the montanas, mountains, and arroyos, dry riverbeds, looking for wolf bones, and when she has assembled an entire skeleton, when the last bone is in place and the beautiful white sculpture of the creature is laid out before her, she sits by the fire and thinks about what song she will sing.

And when she is sure, she stands over the criatura, raises her arms over it, and sings out. That is when the rib bones and leg bones of the wolf begin to flesh out and the creature becomes furred. La Loba sings some more, and more of the creature comes into being; its tail curls upward, shaggy and strong.

And La Loba sings more and the wolf creature begins to breathe.

And still La Loba sings so deeply that the floor of the desert shakes, and as she sings, the wolf opens its eyes, leaps up, and runs away down the canyon.

Somewhere in its running, whether by the speed of its running, or by splashing its way into a river, or by way of a ray of sunlight or moonlight hitting it right in the side, the wolf is suddenly transformed into a laughing woman who runs free toward the horizon.

So it is said that if you wander the desert, and it is near sundown, and you are perhaps a little bit lost, and certainly tired, that you are lucky, for La Loba may take a liking to you and show you some thing -- something of the soul.

May the New Year be a blessing of Love, Light and Deep Transformation - not only for yourself but for the world.

Peace,
Sistah C
